"The customer service there was terrible especially being a black woman I felt very uncomfortable there. Mind you I come literally every week and spend over $30 every time, I was being followed around by each and every way I turned. I reported it to the “Manger” who was working at the register today she looked at me and said absolutely nothing and continued to help the other customers which was Hispanic and then I repeated myself again and she ignored me. I feel like this is unacceptable being that I’m a regular customer and I support this business."
- Myesha Gilbert"This place has the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with the owner has I understand it by others has a daughter who manage this place and my wife and I walk into this place on Sunday(06/30/2024)approximately 3pm my wife has been shopping in this beauty supply for over 15yrs and she asked permission from a young lady behind the counter if she could see an item because she couldn’t see it that well and from across the other side of the counter a young lady who I believe is the owner daughter if I’m not mistaken shouted in front of 8+ customers to my wife she couldn’t be behind the counter rudely embarrassing her to almost to tears humiliating her and I and this is not the first time this is happen because I also had an encounter with this very same person and she treated me like I was garbage I warn people and everyone to be aware of this young lady she mean and rude the customer service there is terrible nobody seems to know anything there no one there cares enough to help the customers with information on there products you’ve been warn to stay away from this place because this girl who we suffered at the hands of this individual is not the person to deal with because she will chew you up and spit you out! (# STAY AWAY) you’ve been warned!!!"

"Optima Beauty Supply is absolutely the best! They offer an incredible selection of top-quality products at unbeatable prices. The service is exceptional—Andy and Felix, the sales manager, are both highly professional, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help. Their expertise and friendly approach made my experience smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend Optima Beauty Supply to anyone looking for great products and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be returning!"
- Fred Kawwa"Wow...this store has everything you need for beauty supplies and also stocks some awesome men’s hair care products that you will not find in other stores. The manager Andy is knowledgeable about the products he has in stock and if you have any questions he is willing to answer. Prices are excellent and service is top notch. I definitely will be stopping by again in the future for any men’s hair care and grooming products. 11/20/19.... Back at Optima again and what more can I say...great selection of men’s grooming products and really competitive prices even compared to online stores. Stop by for all you beauty supply needs. Also the manager is saying they are having special promotions for Black Friday."

"The pricing is outrageous now. I used to buy my makeup here and the prices were good. Now they are $5 more! I get a dollar or two but 5 is pushing. You can get them at target for lower. Save your money."
- Diandra Chimbo"Love this store! it is literally a makeup lovers dream. Location is very well set up and clean also their customer service is amazing! Employees are knowledgeable and willing to help at any time! You'll be spending your money not only on great makeup but also on exceptional and friendly customer service!"

"Excellent products , attentive service . They are the largest beauty supply I’ve been to in NYC.I am glad this shop is near where I’m , as an independent hairstylist myself . We often suffer from online out of stock or order shipment delays . So thankful that Xcellent always have various products in stock . The workers there are friendly and always be patient with my questions . Can’t recommend Xcellent enough"
- Leo Chau"Very happy customer! Did the massage and microblading here and they did a very good job! Place is new so it’s very clean and smell good. Very good customer service. YOYO did my massage and microblading and she’s very good. You can look for her when you make an appointment."

"My first time here was tonight. Does not have a wide variety of products as BSW and Feel Beauty does. The products are overpriced as well. I was asked if I had a membership for points. I said no and didn't even ask if I wanted to sign up."
- Alima Wilson"Love this Beauty Supply! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about products. Wigs can be purchased and installed and styled. I love the point system and the fact they provide employment for the youth in the area."

"I've been shopping here for over a decade, but unfortunately, it has become another business where racist tendencies among the staff are apparent. If you're going to check for theft, ensure you monitor all customers equally, including your Hispanic counterparts, not just black individuals. I will most likely take my business elsewhere."
- Desiree Honore"it’s okay I guess. the workers follow you around thinking you’re gonna steal. the products are good tho, but I wouldn’t buy from them!"

"I have been here a couple times and I can usually find what I need but today I showed up slightly earlier (9:45) than they open and I decided to wait. I ended up waiting a half hour and the store had still not opened. According to their hours they open at 10 which is why I wanted to wait but to no avail. I checked their insta and google to see if the times were the same and they were. Pretty disappointed cause I really just wanted to get my products from there and be done with it. Instead I had to find another beauty supply to get my products from."
- Guadalupe Vazquez"This beauty supply is not professional at all. The owner the Indian man is a disgusting rude person . He sells broken things to people and try’s to pin it on the customer so they can come out of their pocket and pay for it. my mother was just there and she always buys things from their. he tried to sell her over priced clip in extensions 14 inch for over $80. when she wanted to look at the clips and she opened it she noticed one of the clips appeared to be broken so she kindly brought it to his attention and he automatically blamed her for it and told her it’s like that because she broke it. he began to insult her and tell her to get out of his store . I suggest they close this place down because he’s just rude and he’s definitely a scammer. DONT GO HERE LADIES . IT ISNT WORTH IT! DISGUSTING SERVICE ."

"I’ve went here before & it’s been okay, but this last trip 11/10 around 5pm was very uncomfy and didn’t feel good! I am a black woman who goes here to get simple products for my hair, but when I walked in initially I wasn’t even greeted but everybody was standing around at the front while silent & staring. I go to one aisle & the bald Hispanic man comes past for a little and I didn’t pay any attention. Then the younger redhead worker comes down the aisle I was looking at and pretends to be looking at products. Then I walk down further & she goes a little further looking at COTTON PADS. At that point I knew I was being profiled & watched. I then go to the next aisle & she comes down the aisle doing the same thing, then I go to the last aisle and she leaves because I’m visibly by the older Hispanic lady (Maria) at that was working the checkout. The younger redhead was obviously in an awkward spot by the door next to the register watching me from there. If it wasn’t for the fact there’s not a lot of beauty supplies in the area I would have walked out! The one following me is glad I didn’t cuss her out, but instead checked out & addressed the issue after. I noticed a Hispanic man walk in while I was checking out and didn’t seem anybody was watching him… If you’re going to follow and profile people at least make it less obvious or have a REASON to. I was in there less than 2 minutes when they started. Extremely weird, unprofessional & profiling!! Get a grip on yourselves I have no reason to be followed or steal $17 dollars worth of 1.99-4.99 cheap ass products. Y’all don’t even have everything I really need for me to be wanting to THINK about stealing. Not coming back to this store and would recommend other black women or people in general not to even support this business. I’ll go out my way to go elsewhere."
- Liliaana Mitchell"Upon visiting the establishment, I encountered an incredibly discourteous manager. She rudely announced we had "2 minutes" and repeatedly shouted "1 minute" following that. Additionally, she insisted they were only accepting card payments without any clear reason. It was perplexing why she would allow us in if they were about to close.we ended up leaving and not getting anything as she was so rude. Given our purpose was a simple tint service, the experience was unnecessarily stressful and unprofessional. This is not an isolated incident; my sister experienced similar treatment. Her lack of basic customer service skills and poor attitude are concerning. Rest assured, I will be spreading word among family and friends to avoid this place due to the unacceptable service."

"I bought something at this store today for my friend for her birthday and I showed it to her and she tried it but it was the wrong one she was looking for so I went to make a return and they said that they cannot do the return when it was barely even use I would not recommend this store and I would always come there most of the times."
- Lavae Yonker"Zero customer service. They follow you around like you’re going to take something. Was in a rush so needed to purchase my hair product otherwise would’ve taken my money someplace else. They need to learn some customer service."

"Sure the products are alright, but the service is bad. The employees always think you’re going to steal and can sometimes just be all up in your space if I’m being honest."
- Alitzel"The positive reviews are fake . You can tell its only one review haha . Trust the negative reviews . The employees follow you around like you are a damn thief!! 🤣😑😑😑😑😑😑"

"I bought hair here and while the staff is kind and helpful in finding the right kind of hair, their products itself are not good, at least in terms of hair. Even my hair stylist asked why and where I bought this hair because it was really low quality and did not perform the way it was meant to. I bought human hair for weave/sew in. It has already started shedding from the wefts. It was on the cheaper end… you pay for what you get I guess. I’d avoid buying hair from here. Their other products are fine since there are name brands. And again, staff was nice, but merchandise was not unfortunately."
- Jade"I had an issue with a purchase and the manager would not accommodate me bc I didn’t have a receipt and it was over a month. Then he turned around and contradicted what he said by saying he helps out a lot of ppl. But I don’t have a receipt. It’s okay. I will not be returning to support this small business. Karma"
